Teachers and truth…
Romans 16:17-18 says
I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
There have been and will be in every generation those who for their own ends cause dissension through their teaching. Paul expressly states that such people are not serving our Lord Jesus.
God is truth, and we, especially those who teach must be careful that it is truth we teach and not opinion. To present opinion, no matter how valid as God’s truth is to decieve and those who do such things should therefore be avoided. They are seeking their own benefit and not God’s
Paul’s instruction to us? But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. Titus 2:1
