"Lest I build on another man’s foundation"
Paul in concluding his letter to the Romans speaks of the fact that he made it his ambition not to preach where others had preached but to ‘boldly preach where no man has preached before’ (Paraphrase!). His reason is this: ‘lest I build on another man’s foundation’.
All too often we compete with one another when there is plenty of room for everyone. There is no point in trying to prove that we can do it better than the other guy when God has a unique plan and purpose for each one of us. We should be seeking to understand God’s plan for our lives rather than trying to show others how live theirs.
This is not an excuse for working alone, we are still called to work together – just not on top of one another.
