“Even as they did not like to retain God in knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things that are not fitting.” – Romans 1:28

The world around Paul was obviously degenerate. It’s primary characteristic was a turning of healthy desires and appetites towards perversion. This was only the final fruit of a general rejection of God. thos who refused to see God in creation rejected His influence and His authority on every aspect of their lives.

So the starting point for an upturn in morals is the retaining of God in our knowledge. Push God out of our minds and our actions will naturally follow suit. It is something that takes effort to keep God in our naturally wayward minds, but it must be done.

Praise God that His Word can and willl transform us as it renews our minds (Romans 12:2), and as our minds are renewed our morals and actions will soon follow!
