When Isaac began to restore the land in which he lived by digging wells the local people quarrelled with him, so he moved on. By the time he dug the third well he was left alone. At this point Isaac called the place Rehoboth, which means 'wide places'. It was here that Isaac believed he would have the space, the freedom from opposition to actually begin to be fruitful in the land. So many churches are full of those who don't dig wells, but rather oppose those who do. My prayer is that God will bring each of us to that wide place, free from opposition where we can bear fruit.
'So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, "For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land."' Genesis 26:22
